In the fall of 1987, Icelandic radio personality Þorsteinn Joð decided to gather some musicians and host a concert where they would play songs from the Blues Brothers soundtrack.
Icelandic singer-songwriter, Asgeir Trausti, may only be 20 years old but last summer he already made his mark on the Icelandic music scene with his two singles, Sumargestur and the smash-hit Leyndarmal. Both singles belong to his debut album Dyrd i daudathogn, released in September.
With extraordinary musical skills and polarizing humor at its best an Icelandic band swings itself up to crack the crusty music market open. How the hell did that happen?
